Easily Search the Apple Developer Site With Chrome
November 4, 2010
Sal Conigliaro put together a handy extension for Safari and Firefox that offers easy searching of the Apple developer site. Chrome users can take advantage of a great little omnibox feature to add a similar capability. Under Preferences > Basics click Manage Search Engines, then at the bottom of the page add this URL for a keyword like adc:
http://developer.apple.com/search/?q=%s
Now you can type “adc blocks” in the omnibox and hit return to search the Apple developer site for “blocks”.

These custom search strings work for anything that has a parameter as part of the URL. You can set up “t [ticket number]” to go a specific item in your ticketing system, “ts” for a Twitter search, etc.
